My sister, Rowena (genius that she is) is helping me in every way to promote myself as a writer. In doing so she reached out to a very famous woman, Joya Dass, Founder of a yearly event called LadyDrinks, which celebrates women entrepreneurs. Joya was a former anchor on Bloomberg, a journalist and is now not just the founder of LadyDrinks but also produces and directs documentaries on social justice as well as travels all around the globe mentoring and sharing her professional as well as personal story and climb to the top.
This year – Row and I were very proud to be a part of the LadyDrinks Event. We were part of a select group of sponsors and I was able to showcase my talent as a published author alongside another brilliant author, Arden Greenspan-Goldberg!
The event was a success. I met a great deal of talented, articulate and warm women, many of whom had their little girls in tow. (It was a mother daughter event as well). I had my not so little girl with me, who together with my sister really eased me into the social aspect of authoring. The best part of the evening for me was being surrounded by all of the little girls who wanted to read and talk about my book The Slipper.
I’ve included a few pictures of the event and I can’t express how much of a pleasure it was to meet and get to know our wonderful host Joya Dass and what an honor it was to be a part of such an exciting event. I look forward to a few more.
