This past week I’ve haven’t been doing much except fighting my cold, working like a Hebrew slave and running home to snuggle with my sailor and get as much rest as possible. Being sick sucks royal balls but I’m on the mend. It’s just taking a while to run it’s course. Ah that middle age baloney – ain’t it grand!
On the makeup front: I’ve started using BB cream instead of foundation. At first I was just using it on my eyes, (eyelid up to the brow) because it makes a huge difference enabling your eyeshadow to maintain it’s color on your lids throughout the day. But when I was at work, chatting with Wendy, our cleaning girl, we were discussing the BB cream, and I brought it with me so we could do a little show and tell. Well my girl put a tiny dab on her hand and started rubbing it into her skin. Then she was like “Aman-da, jew see it’s changing coolor? It’s gonna find your coolor.” Well I knew that of course because I’ve been dabbing it on my eyelids daily. But her comment brought about my curiosity as to how it would look on my face if I used it in lieu of my foundation. I love my foundation but it’s not my specific color, plus my hubby’s always going on and on about how I would look so much better if I had a more natural look. Now I might normally breeze off his opinion and throw it in the men have no clue category. But I’ve been checking out the faces of women in my age box and quite frankly, I’ve been leaning toward the less heavy makeup look. Long story a tad longer, I’ve been using the BB cream for about a week now and I’ve come to appreciate the look much, much better.
If you’re the least bit interested I use the Revlon BB cream, light. Below you can see the pic. The cost is about $7.16 per tube and I purchased it at my neighborhood Walgreens.
On other breaking news, I’ve been waking up on time and getting to work on time! Will wonders never cease? My boss and shockingly myself are both thrilled. It’s less stressful and I’m managing more efficiently. The only thing is I still end up working about an hour and a half later – bright side? I’m killing it on the OT and quite frankly right now I could use it so it’s all good!
These days the sailor’s back is killing him and mine ain’t doing so grand either. We’ve come to the conclusion that we need a new mattress. Maybe we bounce on a FargattE one! Tee hee! Anyhoo we’ve had this one since Jersey – going on at least twelve years! Whoa, yeah, it’s time. So we’re going to be exploring that option soon. The sailor’s really digging the memory foam and we’ve seen commercials prompting us to actually visit Bob’s! They’ve got a good selection at what I deem, affordable pricing so I’m thinking that will probably be our next big purchase.
I’ll do a review of the mattress once we purchase in case anyone else out there is interested.
