Dear Diary 5/13/2015

Sometimes it feels like things are moving at a crawl and yet at other times, a hundred miles per hour.  This past weekend was Mother’s Day and my daughter was such a little sweetie, she had flowers sent to my office.  And I’m NOT gonna lie.  I totally was preening and beaming.  It was such a treat.  And my hubby sent flowers home from overseas.  That was quite something!  I was tickled pink and just about happy at every turn.

I did end up visiting my mom on Sunday.  My parents were actually sick and wanted to postpone my visit but honestly this was one of those times where I had to take a page out of my sister’s book and gently insist that they let me see them.  Much to my surprise they not only agreed but allowed me to order some food and bring it to them.  Now this might not seem like such a feat for regular people, but for my fiercely independent, don’t like to bother the children with requests parents, this was like a milestone!  In any case I came, I saw, I conquered.  We had a really nice time together, hung out for a bit, shared some laughs and of course my mom once she got a load of how much the Swarovski necklace and earrings cost she insisted I take it back.  Sooo I will.  But she’s getting the cash in any case!  I hardly splurge on my parents but once in awhile it’s just necessary!

On another note, my sis made a reservation for my mom’s 70th at The Russian Tearoom.  I can’t wait to go!  I did a little piece on it, on my FB awhile back and the joint is gorgeous.  Can’t wait to have the experience.  We’ll go halfsies but thank God for Row making all of the perfect arrangements cause if it was up to me, we may just end up at the buffet…lol

On the work-front my sunshine and I are getting to be like two peas in a pod!  I’ve made a few minor mistakes but he’s been absolutely gracious about each one and even took half the responsibility!  HELLO – YAY!  I’m really diggin’ our two way intercourse if ya know what I mean!  I’m starting to be able to predict him just a little and that ain’t no easy task.  The man could be like a runaway train but I can tell he’s really trying to reign himself in for ME.  Yes ME.  He’s making an effort to remain transparent and it’s really helping me to help him a whole lot better.  PLUS I’m feelin’ the love.  Our cute little banter is back and I’m diggin the whole shebang.

On an upswing – I am finally taking the steps to put my book The Slipper on Amazon but I’m not tech savvy enough to make it look polished sooo I went out on a limb (Thanks to God who was like look now woman if one door closes, I’m opening another – walk through it, what are you waiting for?) – so I contacted my old illustrator Phoenix and asked if she would upload the book onto Createaspace so that I could get on with things and she not only can but she will and she’s charging me a flat rate of $500.  Can you hear me banging my gavel and screaming SOLD???  Cause I am!  Finally, phase freakin two!

For the past few weekends I’ve been doing nothing but having a Netflix Saturday, parking myself on the couch, the cat parking herself on me and just watching the series that I’ve always wanted to either finish or see.  Finally finished Magic City which was AMAZING… Then I moved on to Season 2 of THE FALL – and although I kinda fell asleep in the midst of a few episodes, I just rewound after my impromptu nap and watched it in full.  Finished it, it was pretty amazing and they way the cut the final episode I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a Season 3.  And it must be said that Gillian Anderson (who is 46) looked absolutely gorgeous and sexy in this role.  Gives me hope!  I also saw (yeah keep your shirt on I’m almost done) The Red Road!!! Finally.  I for one have mourned the loss of the character Kahl Drogo played by Jason Momoa in Game of Thrones, so when I realized that he would be a lead in The Red Road…. well, you know the rest.  In any case saw the entire first season and it was all that and a bag o’ chippers!
